OLIVE OIL
This page has some information about olive oil pressing (and avocado too)
From time to time I get asked if our seed presses will squeeze oil from olives, they won't. This is because the oil in an olive is in the flesh of the fruit and the oil in a seed or nut is in the hard bit (the seed or nut ...). As far as I am aware this equipment can be used for avocados too. If you are interested please get in touch and I'll research this further and we can organise some trials.
So here are a couple of examples of small scale machines that can press olives, the subsequent filtering bottling etc is the same as for rapeseed, linseed, hazelnut etc and information for that can be found on the other pages.

These presses are simple to use and ideal for those with small plots of olive trees who want to process a one or two hundred bottles of olive oil per year.
The SPREMOLIVA is designed for processing up to a ton of olives per year
The FRANTONIO is designed for processing up to 3 tons of olives per year
After cleaning the olives they are tipped in into the hopper. A screw takes them into a crusher and stirrer to make an olive paste. After a time this is pumped to the decanter where the oil is separated from the waste and water. Oil flows from the pipe. Both machines work on a batch process - the Spremoliva in 25kg batches the Frantonio in 40 kg batches.
SPREMOLIVIA approx £5,000
FRANTONIO approx £6,400
